The last week of May is celebrated as “Insurance Week” in Turkey. During this week, many activities are organized by different stakeholders in the Turkish insurance sector to enhance insurance awareness in the society.

Sixth National Insurance Symposium entitled “Innovation in the Insurance Sector” was held in Istanbul on May 29th, 2017, by Insurance Training Center (SEGEM) in the framework of Insurance Week.

Representatives from the regulatory authority, insurance sector executives, academics and representatives of the press participated to the Symposium. The opening notes of the symposium were made by Dr. Ahmet Genç, Deputy Undersecretary , Undersecretariat of Treasury; Mr. Halim Mete, Vice President, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey and Mr. Can Akın Çağlar, President, the Association of the Insurance, Reinsurance and Pension Companies of Turkey. After the opening notes, Innovation in the Turkish insurance sector was discussed by the regulatory authority, insurance companies, insurance agencies, insurance brokers, loss adjusters and IT professionals.

The speeches and presentations made at the symposium will be compiled and published by SEGEM. The published books will be sent to all stakeholders in the insurance sector, institutions, corporations and universities.
